SILICON CITY///CAMILLE ROSE GARCIA’S TRAGIC KINGDOM…

September 13, 2007  |  Uncategorized

Goth girls and boys who have yet to make their honorific pilgrimage to CAMILLE ROSE GARCIA's retrospective "Tragic Kingdom" show at the SAN JOSE MUSEUM OF ART best organize their hustle and fire up the Dodge Omni before September 23, when it all comes tumbling down. The show is yet another important step for underground artists like Garcia who have long struggled to be recognized outside of the confines of the gallery world and well worth the road trip. Assembling some of the best work of her career, which now spans over ten distinct series of paintings, the overview is a real tour de force for one of LA's brightest art stars and the accompanying nine-part video series accompanying the exhibit is better than a guided tour.
