UK-based arachnophobes are best advised to steer well clear of the Tate Modern for the next two months while LOUISE BOURGEOIS' massive 30-foot-tall bronze spider looms large over the museum's entrance like a real-life Shelob. Installed in honor of the Tate's current retrospective show (featuring over 200 original pieces) cataloguing the 96-year-old French sculptor's diverse career, the incredible work, titled "Maman," originally debuted at the museum in 1999 in the grand Turbine Hall where DORIS SALCEDO’s massive crack now dominates the cavernous space.
