FILM///”JOY DIVISION” A NEW DOCUMENTARY FILM BY GRANT GEE…

When seminal goth rocker IAN CURTIS committed suicide in 1980, mere weeks before the commercial release of the hit "Love Will Tear Us Apart," he left his JOY DIVISION bandmates in disarray and very little to speak of in terms of a visual record of his life and times. Coming hot on the tail of the recent theatrical account of Curtis' life "Control" by Anton Crobijn, "JOY DIVISION," a new documentary film about the band and its enigmatic singer by director Grant Gee seeks to set their record straight through interviews and what little footage of the group exists, stretching from 1977—1980. We caught an advance screening of it this week and rest assured, it's well worth the trip to the theater on February 16 when it hits theaters...
