SHEPARD FAIREY x TRUSTO CORP CEREAL BOXES TO HIT LA GROCERY STORE SHELVES THIS WEEK
Disruptive street art collective/culture jammers Trusto Corp have just relocated to LA and are planning a fresh assault on the city’s streets and grocery stores in the upcoming weeks. In advance of their first optimistically-titled LA exhibition, “The Future is Blight,” opening at Lebasse Projects on Saturday, April 13th (mark your calendars), the crew has collaborated with fellow artist Shepard Fairey to design a collaborative “Obey Flavor” Trusto Cereal box that will start appearing on local grocery store shelves throughout the southland in the coming days. Of course, these packages won’t be for sale, leaving all potential collectors to their own best shoplifting practices to get them home (although honest shoppers who actually try to “buy” the boxes will be pleasantly surprised by what pops up on register screens when the boxes are scanned).
Only 10 of these cereal boxes will be placed in random supermarkets, and the only way to discover their locations will be to follow the @trustocorp Instagram page for breaking updates. Happy scavenging…
