French social activist street artist JR continues his ongoing "Wrinkles of the City" project with his latest gallery show of the same name, this time in Berlin at Galerie Henrik Springmann. Opening to a packed house on Wednesday, April 17th, the exhibition showcased a selection of his photographic images wheatpasted onto large wooden palettes mimicking the physical nature of his street-level installations alongside a series of beautiful photographic prints depicting his street pieces as they appeared installed around the world, from China to Cuba. Of course, in typical JR style, the art show was supported by a full-scale street assault with the artist's images of local Berlin residents being installed at massive scale on local buildings to visually emphasize the importance of the everyday— and often overlooked—residents within their community.
