Brooklyn-based Dan Witz, renowned for his installations of ultra-realistic figurative street art is currently in Berlin, Germany, where he's been hitting the walls with his "Free Pussy Riot" series. Honoring the jailed Russian activist female punk rock band of the same name whose members have been sentenced to Siberian labor camps for their controversial displays of anti-Puin sentiment in Moscow, Witz' paste-ups are installed on the inside of small door windows in an effort to depict the band members as they appear behind jail doors. Great work by a thinking man's street artist. For those not familiar with the Pussy Riot situation, the 60 Minutes documentary featured below is essential viewing.
