OF KURFS & COMPANIONS: KAWS’ ‘FINAL DAYS’ SCULPTURE SHOW AT CAC MALAGA
Continuing the large-scale exploration of his now-iconic cast of XX-eyed artistic accomplices, KAWS (aka: Brian Donnelley) brings five new characters to life in wooden form with his new “Final Days” show at El Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga (CAC Malaga), Spain. New among his usual array of Companion characters is a giant version of a “Kurf,” a KAWS-ified Smurf frozen in a pose of uncertain exploration amidst a crowd of expertly crafted, emotionally-affected compatriots. Again, nothing groundbreaking we haven’t seen before from the beloved artist and streetwear impresario in either form or fashion, but dazzling eye candy through and through nonetheless. Have a look:
