FAIR PLAY | THE SUPERTOUCH ART BASEL HONG KONG 2014 RECAP
This year’s annual installment of Art Basel Hong Kong wrapped up last week, eating up all the spare change in Asia at the same time the Frieze fair and giant sales at Christie’s, Sotheby’s, and Phillips looted the pockets of New York’s ruling class in a giant global art market money grab. Of course, the usual suspects were all in attendance and new money Asian collectors scrambled to scoop up must-have trophies from Warhol, Koons, Nara, Basquiat, and Murakami, validating China as the new frontier in art sales (sorry New York). Supertouch was in attendance to witness the debauchery and document the best in show. Have a look:
