STREET LIFE | INSA’S ANIMATED “GIF-ITI”

UK-based street artist & designer INSA has been taking his mural game to new levels over the past year with a series of  "GIF-iti" pieces in spots around the world from Hollywood to Gambia. Like traditional stop motion animation, the murals are painted in successive evolving layers, each of which is photographed in succession and then combined to create a final animated piece in the form of a GIF file. In the words of the artist, he's  "mixing retro internet technology and labor-intensive painting" to create "slices of infinite un-reality, cutting edge art for the tumblr generation."
