Designed for subway-riding New Yorkers bored with the constant visual assault of advertising at every turn, the No Ad augmented reality app replaces corporate ads with art. Created by Re + Public, an organization dedicated to “democratizing access to our shared visual environment,” the free AR app for both iOS and Android enables viewers to view the subway environment through their phone or tablet and automatically swaps out corporate advertising with artwork by over 100 artists including Skullphone, Ron English, Saber, and WK Interact, to name a few.
