Film | Watch Pixar’s New Short Film For Adults “Borrowed Time”

To the delight of children around the world, animation studio Pixar is known for its more lighthearted films like Toy Story, Monsters Inc, & Cars. It’s newest release, however, a short film for adults ominously titled Borrowed Time about a weathered Sheriff returns to the remains of an accident he has spent a lifetime trying to forget, marks a departure for the brand into a much darker (and welcome) direction.

“A goal for us was to make something that kind of contested the notion of animation being a genre, and one for children specifically,” explained animator Lou Hamou-Lhadj. “We really wanted to make something that was a little bit more adult in the thematic choices, and show that animation could be a medium to tell any sort of story.”
