Detroit’s resident bad-ass painter noir GLENN BARR is well on his way to putting the finishing touches on the prototype sculpt for the forthcoming bronze edition of his “Happiness” painting that will be released in a limited edition of 15 early next year. White Stripes/Raconteurs frontman and native Detroiter JACK WHITE has taken a lot of heat in the past two years following his move from Detroit’s historic urban Indian Village neighborhood to the decidedly safer & more musically fertile grounds of Nashville where his latest albums have been recorded. As a tribute to his hometown, Mr White has taken the unusual step of penning a poetic homage to the murder city—an act that would probably earn him a severe beating if he were still a resident. Brooklyn-based SAVED TATTOO overlord SCOTT CAMPBELL unleashed his demonic stylings on the unsuspecting art world of Milan when his Satan-friendly paintings debuted as part of the “Occult” group show at MASSIMO CARASI GALLERY tonite. Featuring new work by seven godless heathens and Supertouch favorites including Michael Bevilacqua, Wendell Gladstone, Filippo La Vacara, Jeremiah Maddock, Bruce Richards, and Dan Trocchio the exhibit went a long way in proving that the devil’s in the details.
