Roger Waters' Slick & Danny Boy-designed graffiti pig heads off to slaughter...

Checking in on the road home from COACHELLA, here's a quick look at the obligatory flying “Dark Side of the Pig" balloon painted by Supertouch buddies SLICK & DANNY BOY bearing slogans like "Don't Be Led to the Slaughter," "No Blood For Oil," and "Don't Build Walls," that floated through ROGER WATERS' moonlite Floyd set...

UPDATE: $10,000 REWARD FOR LOST PIG:
After being released during Waters' Coachella-closing set Sunday nite, it seems the pig du jour floated off into the horizon, never to be reclaimed. Now, Coachella festival organizer Bill Fold has offered a $10K reward for the graffiti'd oinker's return: "A pig got loose last night," said Fold, "We really like him and want him back.... It's a very emotional time for us." Anyone with information of the piggy's whereabouts or in possession of a convincing bootleg & a need for $10K can contact lostpig@coachella.com...

Optimus Prime moonlights at Cirque du Soleil...

Aside from a lot of neo hippie-ish little installations throughout the festival grounds, the massive three-day concert that is COACHELLA offered little in the way of compelling artwork save for MIKE ROSS' monumental "Big Rig Jig." Constructed from two real semi rigs, the sculpture literally dominated the skyline, inadvertently paying homage to the legion of surly truck drivers who hauled in the event's equipment & musicians through 100+ degree temps...

Ozzy's mentor...

At this point it's beyond a foregone conclusion that the upcoming (May 2nd) IRON MAN movie— like nearly every comic book movie that came before it—will suck hard, but before our minds are tainted by the surely horrific storyline and direction, let's take a moment to dig how cool these new unpainted armor suits are. "Artists Rifles Uzi"

Lucky Londoners have the rare chance to see an incredible show of new work by one of Supertouch's favorite artists, CHARLES KRAFFT, now on display at East End hotspot STOLEN SPACE. Renowned for his sublime and transgressive work in the delicate medium of porcelain, the Seattle-based artist learned the traditional art of Delftware—a form of blue and white painted pottery originating in the Netherlands in the 16th Century—from a group of modern masters and quickly proceeded to bring his own trademark brand of subversive imagery to the medium with a series he calls “Disasterware." Now his innovative array of machine guns, grenades, and other implements of war, peace, and Pop Culture, serve as astute and insightful icons of fine art in a medium otherwise reserved for tourist trinkets and souvenir fodder. BROOKLYN///ART CRIMES///THE LAST FLIGHT OF THE “TURTLE”…

"No officer, I don't have a license for this wooden submarine that I built in my garage"...

Continuing the trend of Banksy-style art/publicity stunts, heroically named Brooklyn-based multimedia art agitator DUKE RILEY got himself in some serious hot water with the feds this week when he paddled his latest creation, a wooden replica of America's first submarine called "The Turtle" up alongside US ship the Queen Mary 2 which had just docked in Red Hook. Fearing a terrorist attack, the Coast Guard were called in and Riley's floatie—which he spent the last five months constructing almost entirely out of Oak—got impounded. Riley, however, got all the press he needed for his forthcoming show this fall at Chelsea's MAGNAN PROJECTS. Check out the NY TIMES' coverage of the fiasco: Read More
